Solid state battery is not a new concept. It appeared as early as the 1970s. It was commercialized around 1991. At present, the miniature lithium battery used in headphones is a kind of solid-state battery.

At that time, the solid-state battery appeared in the form of thin-film battery, and the reason why it was not popular at that time was that the solid-state thin-film battery had the disadvantages of small capacity and high cost, but its commercial application also proved that the solid-state battery technology was feasible.

But at present, all solid state battery technology also faces many technical challenges, including solid interface problems, high-performance battery material development and engineering problems, and has not yet formed a large-scale raw materials and industrial manufacturing system, as well as high production cost. The main problem is that there is no standard system for the size and safety index of solid-state battery.

There is still a way to go for the complete commercialization of solid-state batteries, but I believe that with the promotion of many new applications and the R & D efforts of Companies in various fields, the large-scale popularization of solid-state batteries will soon come.
